About:
Luke’s house provides healthcare for the Spanish-speaking populace of New Orleans. We provide general checkups, screening for hypertension and diabetes, prescription assistance, vaccinations for Influenza, Tdap, and Pneumococcus, and referrals to other clinics for services if need be. Luke’s is comprised of volunteers from Tulane, LSU and Ochsner’s medical programs, and serves both Spanish and English-speaking patients.

To be cleared to volunteer, students should speak to Krishna Navaratnam, Karen Gallegos-Diaz, Mahlet Zemedkun, or Connor Nyborg (email: Lukeshouse.TUSOM@tulane.edu) for an initial assessment. They will talk to the student about the tasks performed at Luke’s and speak to the students in Spanish for some simulated scenarios.

Preceptor Clinic
General physician consult – Physicals, diabetes and hypertension care, female health, prescription assistance
Immunizations for Influenza, Tdap, Pneumococcus.
Once a month, there is also a Women’s clinic and an Eye Clinic

There is a large parking lot in front of Luke’s House. See above picture. Please do not park at the Chicken Mart! (The parking lot for the mart is relatively small, and the larger parking lot is more for the office buildings)
